What Are Cases?

A case is the central record for investigation work in CaseWyze. It brings the client, subjects, instructions, assignments, updates, scheduled work, evidence, reports, and financial activity together.

Cases and case requests

A case request is an intake record awaiting review. It becomes a case after an authorized user accepts it. You can also create a case directly when intake review is unnecessary.

Cases and My Cases

Cases provides the broader list available to users with the required permissions and Full Access. My Cases shows work available within your assignment or relationship scope. Neither view bypasses access restrictions.

A typical case workflow

  1. Create the case or accept a request.
  2. Confirm its subjects, client, services, team, due date, and budget.
  3. Schedule tasks and events and document results in updates.
  4. Organize evidence, record time and expenses, and prepare reports.
  5. Review outstanding work and move the case to the appropriate completion or closed status.

The available tabs and actions depend on your role, case access, and the current case status.
