A case budget records how many hours or how much money is authorized for case work. CaseWyze compares those limits with recorded consumption so the team can monitor remaining authorization.
Depending on the case type, a budget can track hours, money, or both. Some case types disable budgets. The budget may warn as usage rises or use a hard cap to block budget-checked work that exceeds the limit.
A budget is an internal work authorization limit. It does not set client rates, create an invoice, collect payment, or represent a retainer balance. Time, expenses, invoices, and payments have their own workflows.
Open the case's Budget tab for Budget Summary, Consumption Snapshot, and Adjustment History. The Info tab also includes a Budget Status card where your access allows it.
Budget visibility requires the appropriate case financial access or Modify Case Budget permission. Creating or changing a budget requires Modify Case Budget. Case access and case-type configuration still apply.
