Viewing Updates in Chronological Order

Use the case Updates list to follow the sequence of entries, find a particular update, or export a filtered list.

Choose the order

  1. Open the case and select Updates.
  2. In the table view, select the Date column heading to change its sort direction.
  3. Choose ascending order to read oldest to newest, or descending order to see the latest entries first.
  4. Open an update to read its full narrative and linked information.

The default order is newest first, although a saved sort preference can change the order you see. Table controls can differ on smaller screens.

Understand the date

The Date column sorts by the update’s creation time. It does not automatically sort entries by observation dates mentioned in their text. For work documented later, include the actual date and time in the description or activity timeline.

Search and filter

Use search to find matching titles, description text, or update types. Use the type filter to focus on a category of update. Clear filters when an expected entry is missing.

Export the list

Use the export menu to create a CSV or PDF of the filtered, sorted updates. The list export includes title, type, creator, date, and description; it is not a download package containing the linked files.

Note: Sorting and exporting do not expand your access. Only updates visible to you are included.
