Using Update Presets

Update presets help you start with a consistent title and narrative format. A preset can include case information so routine updates are easier to prepare.

Apply a preset

  1. Open the update form.
  2. Choose an available Preset.
  3. Review the populated title and description.
  4. Replace placeholders and add the facts specific to the work performed.
  5. Check the update type, visibility, related activity, timeline, and attachments before saving.

Applying a preset after writing

Applying a preset can replace the current title and body. Review the replacement confirmation before continuing. Attachments, timeline entries, and other update settings remain as they are, so check that they still match the new narrative.

A preset is missing

Available presets can depend on the case type, your role, access group, and whether the preset is active. Ask an administrator to check those settings.

Manage presets

Users with the appropriate settings permissions manage templates under Case Update Presets in Settings. A preset supplies a starting point; it does not replace reviewing the facts before saving.
