Using Sales Reports for Revenue and Client Trends

Sales Reports helps you understand invoiced work, received payments, client mix, and changes over time.

Choose a view

  • Sales Distribution: invoice sales by the selected segment.
  • Sales Trend Detail: sales movement across periods.
  • Revenue Trends Comparison: compare revenue across years.
  • Sales by Day: daily invoice counts, subtotal, or total according to the selected metric.
  • Sales by Line Item: the mix of invoiced items and related sales.
  • Income Distribution: payment totals by segment.

Use the filters

Depending on the report, choose dates, clients, salesperson, invoice status, grouping, or comparison periods. Distribution options can include client, location, case type, contact, or salesperson. Use only the options available on the selected report.

Sales and income differ

An invoice records billing; a payment records money received. A large invoiced total can coexist with a smaller received-payment total. Select Sales Distribution for invoiced sales and Income Distribution for payment totals instead of expecting the two to match.

Open invoice detail where available before interpreting a surprising amount. Tax, status, timing, and the chosen subtotal or total metric can change the comparison.
