Understanding Staff in CaseWyze

People > Staff brings together the employees, vendor investigators, and vendor businesses involved in your organization’s work.

Choose the right record

  • Employee: an internal staff member, such as an investigator, manager, or administrator.
  • Vendor Investigator: an individual who works through a vendor company.
  • Vendor: the business associated with vendor investigators.

The directory can show All Staff, Employees, Vendor Investigators, and Vendors, depending on your access. A vendor business is different from an individual who signs in or receives an assignment.

A profile and a login are different

A staff profile stores operational information such as contact details, role, manager, preferences, and notes. Its Status indicates whether the profile is active. Its Access Level controls access to the organization. A person can have a staff record without a linked login.

The usual workflow

  1. Create a staff profile or convert a hired applicant.
  2. Review staff type, role, access, manager, and contact details.
  3. Complete the invitation and linked-login setup when access is needed.
  4. Review pay rates and work preferences.
  5. Assign the person to the appropriate cases and activities.
  6. Keep the profile current and deactivate access when appropriate.

Manage Users and applicable governance rules control staff administration. Assignment, role permissions, and access groups still determine what each person can see and do.
