Understanding Organization Case Request Settings

Individual public forms control their questionnaire and presentation. Case Request Settings controls shared intake behavior for the organization.

Review the shared settings

  • Default Instructions: baseline instructions used on intake pages.
  • Case Request Number Format: the pattern used for intake request identifiers.
  • Next Case Request Series Number: the next numbering sequence value.
  • Public Case Request Access Group: the access group applied to files from public requests when transferred into cases.
  • Require Client Address / Require Client Phone: organization-level intake requirements.
  • Default Notification Recipients: the team members or other configured addresses used for request notifications.

How defaults and forms work together

Use the shared settings for consistent organization behavior, then configure individual forms for their audience and purpose. For example, your organization can maintain a common numbering approach while separate forms use different instructions and visible questions.

Verify changes

After saving, inspect an affected form and its required fields. If you change numbering, remember that request numbers identify intake records rather than active case numbers. If you change the access group, review the effect on future file transfers rather than assuming every existing case attachment is reclassified.

These settings require the relevant administration permissions. The Settings topic contains the broader settings reference.
