Understanding Dashboard Permissions and the Vendor Dashboard

Two users in the same CaseWyze workspace may see different dashboard widgets and totals because access is based on their roles and record scope.

Permissions and scope

  • View Dashboard controls standard dashboard access.
  • Customize Dashboard controls personal layout changes.
  • Case, activity, update, request, and financial permissions control the corresponding widgets.
  • Full Access or assigned scope and access groups determine which records are available.

An All filter does not override security permissions. Adding a widget or opening a linked count does not expand access. A View Only layout can still contain permitted links and workflows; the badge refers to dashboard customization.

Vendor Dashboard

Vendor users receive a separate Vendor Dashboard instead of the standard configurable layout. It shows cases and recent updates available through the vendor's role, assignments, record scope, and access groups.

Submitting a case update requires Add Updates. Update submission is disabled during impersonation. Do not expect the standard Dashboard actions menu and widget catalog in the vendor view.

Requesting access

If you believe a widget or record should be available, provide your administrator with the workspace, widget name, and the work you need to perform. The administrator can review the relevant role and assignments.
