Understanding Authorized, Consumed, and Remaining Budget

Budget Summary compares approved limits with recorded usage. Review hours and money separately when both are enabled.

Authorized

The current total work allowance for that dimension, including saved budget changes.

Consumed

The usage CaseWyze includes in the case's budget calculation. Review the underlying financial and work records when investigating the amount; a task title, scheduled duration, or completion marker alone should not be treated as a billable entry.

Remaining

Authorized minus consumed. Negative remaining means the recorded usage is above the authorized limit.

Percentage used

Consumed divided by authorized, expressed as a percentage when a positive limit exists. For example, 15 hours consumed out of 20 authorized is 75% used, with 5 hours remaining.

Read both dimensions

A case can have hours remaining but be near its money limit, or the reverse. Inspect each configured dimension and any displayed warning.

What these figures do not show

Remaining budget is not cash available, a client credit, or the amount still owed on invoices. Pending or unrecorded work may also require additional authorization even when the current summary shows room remaining.
