Start with the exact message shown by CaseWyze and the template's current lifecycle status.
Confirm it is a genuine .docx file no larger than 10 MB and has a unique name. Review parse errors and invalid variables. Correct the source file, then select it again. Replace legacy fields with current equivalents when practical.
Confirm the custom template was tested and activated, the case type allows it, and you have View Report Templates. Uploading a draft alone is insufficient.
Copy the exact placeholder from View Variables. Preview it against the relevant case, verify source data and permissions, and run Template Health. A successful test can still report blanks.
Check matching opening and closing tags and that row fields belong to the correct collection. Try a fresh section from Word Sections and test with representative records.
For timelines, check the template output, Include Activity Timelines, and source update entries. For files, check View Files, selected evidence, and supported Files placeholders.
Check Generate Reports, case status, template validity, and the displayed error. If a download is missing, inspect the saved Reports list before generating again. Saved downloads require Download Reports.
Check popup permissions for CaseWyze.
Use Help & Feedback with the case number, template name, action, and exact error. Include the problematic placeholder or a minimal example where useful, without unnecessary case information.
