Sharing Attachments with Secure Links

Secure share links let authorized users make attachments available with controlled access settings.

  1. Find the attachment and choose its Share action.
  2. Review the expiration and available access settings.
  3. Configure any password, recipient email restriction, access limit, and download or external-link permission.
  4. Create the link and check the settings before sharing it with the intended recipient.

Available restrictions

Expiration presets include 24 hours, 3 days, and 7 days. Custom expiration can range from 1 hour to 30 days. Optional passwords require at least 6 characters, and access-count limits can range from 1 to 1000.

Review and revoke

Use the attachment's sharing controls and access logs to review sharing activity and revoke active links when appropriate. These actions require Download Attachments permission.

Uploaded-file share links use the attachment's latest available version. Sharing an external attachment does not override the original cloud provider's access requirements. Recipients may still need the correct Google, Microsoft, or other provider account.

After access

Revoking a link prevents further access through that link; it does not retrieve copies a recipient already downloaded or revoke separate access granted by a cloud provider.
