Monitoring Case Aging, Due Dates, and Workflow Movement

Operational case reports help identify older work, upcoming deadlines, and movement through the case lifecycle.

Available reports

  • Open Case Aging: open case age and overdue risk by group.
  • Due Date Risk: open cases grouped into due-date risk buckets.
  • Case Closure Throughput: opened, closed, and backlog movement.
  • Reopened Case Rate: reopening by operational group.
  • Time in Status: average duration in statuses.

Read each time measure separately

Case age concerns how long a case has been open. Due-date risk concerns its deadline. Time in Status uses recorded workflow timing. An old case may have entered its current status recently, so these measures need not agree.

Investigate a result

  1. Set the relevant case and period filters.
  2. Identify the group or cases needing attention.
  3. Open the case and review its status, due date, and history where available.
  4. Correct inaccurate source records through the case workflow.

Incomplete status history or missing due dates can limit interpretation. A closure count alone does not describe the complexity or quality of the completed work.
