Linking Attachments to Updates and Transferring Request Files

Files can enter a case through uploads, case updates, or an approved case request.

Attach files to an update

  1. Open the case and add or edit an update.
  2. Use the update's attachment controls.
  3. Select an existing case attachment, or upload a new supported file where offered.
  4. Review the selected attachments and save the update.

A newly uploaded file becomes a case attachment and is linked to the update. Manage the case's full collection in Attachments. Check the file's visibility as well as the update's access settings.

Request supporting files

Files submitted during intake belong to the case request until approval and successful transfer. The current request supporting-file flow has a 5 MB limit, or a lower limit configured on the form. This is different from the 5 GB normal case-attachment limit.

After request acceptance

Review the new case's Attachments tab and compare it with the request's Files tab. If CaseWyze reports a pending or failed transfer, resolve it before assuming all submitted files reached the case.

Public-request file visibility is also affected by the configured Public Case Request Access Group when files transfer into the case.
