Importing Data Through Settings

Open Settings > Data Import. This area requires Full Access and Manage Settings.

Data Import provides import preparation, mapping, validation, processing, and history. Imports can create many related records, so work from a reviewed source and retain an unchanged copy.

Standard import workflow

  1. Welcome and Prepare: review guidance and download the applicable CaseWyze templates.
  2. Type: select the appropriate import mode, such as a new migration or incremental import, and a supported source preset where applicable.
  3. Upload: provide the supported files.
  4. Columns: map source columns to destination fields.
  5. Validate: review errors and correct the source or mapping.
  6. Types: map source categories to CaseWyze configuration.
  7. Dry Run: review the simulation and proposed results.
  8. Confirm and Process: review the target workspace and execute the approved import.

Review results

Use the import dashboard and history to confirm completion, review failures, and inspect representative records and relationships. If completion is uncertain, check Import History before resubmitting the same files; a second submission can create unintended results.

AI Import is optional

The standard template and mapping workflow can be used without AI. AI-assisted analysis requires the account's own configured OpenAI API key. Review suggested mappings yourself before importing.

Scope

Do not assume every external system's export is directly compatible or that a rollback will undo every downstream change. Validate the supported format and use a controlled test before a large migration.
