Correcting and Resubmitting Declined Entries

A Declined status means the submission was returned or rejected during review.

Review the reason

  1. Find the entry using the Declined status filter in My Expenses, Expenses, or the case list.
  2. Open the details and read the decline reason.
  3. Check the work date, staff, item, activity, hours or quantity, rate, notes, and receipt against that reason.

Correct and resubmit

  1. Choose Edit if you have Edit Expenses permission and the entry is eligible.
  2. Make the requested correction. Add enough detail for the reviewer to understand what changed.
  3. Review every row in a grouped submission and select Save Changes.
  4. Confirm that the corrected entry now shows Awaiting Review.

Avoid duplicate submissions

Saving the corrected declined entry performs the resubmission; do not create another copy just to send it back for review. If you cannot edit it, ask a manager to check permissions and invoice or payment links. Declined does not mean deleted, approved, or paid, and a reviewer must make a new decision after resubmission.

Access and availability

The controls you see depend on your permissions, access to the case, the case status, and the entry's review, invoice, and payment state. If an action is missing, ask your CaseWyze administrator to check these conditions.
