Configuring Optional AI with Your Own API Key

Open Settings > AI. This area requires Full Access plus Manage Integrations or Manage API Keys; credential actions remain restricted to authorized administrators.

AI is completely optional. You can manage cases, write updates, organize evidence, and generate template-based reports without enabling AI.

Your account, your data

To use AI features, your organization must provide its own OpenAI API key. CaseWyze uses the key configured for that account. Your case data remains your organization's data; using AI does not transfer ownership of it to CaseWyze or another customer.

When you choose an AI action, the relevant content is sent to the AI provider for processing under that provider's terms and your account settings. Using your own key does not by itself guarantee zero retention or prevent provider processing. Keep confidential-data handling consistent with your organization's requirements.

Connect or replace the key

  1. An authorized administrator opens AI settings.
  2. Enter the account's key in OpenAI API Key.
  3. Select Save Key or Save New Key.
  4. Select Test Connection and review the status and error details.

The saved key is encrypted at rest and shown only as a masked hint. Ordinary users cannot view the stored credential. Use Remove Key to stop using the configured connection.

AI Feature Preferences

Set Model, Tone, Temperature, and AI Instructions separately for Import Analysis, Update Summary, and Attachment Analysis. Select Save AI Preferences. These influence generated output; review every result for accuracy before relying on it.

Usage and health

AI Usage & Health shows recorded requests from the last seven days, successes, errors, and the last successful request by feature. Check connection status, provider-account availability, and errors when generation fails.
