Building Repeating Tables and Optional Report Sections

Use structured collections when a report needs one row for each subject, investigator, activity, update, selected file, or service.

Start with a finished table

The easiest approach is Settings > Templates > Word Sections. Download the relevant table and copy it into your template. Preserve its opening and closing collection tags when changing formatting.

Understand collection tags

A collection uses a matched opening and closing tag. For example, a subject collection uses {{#Subjects.rows}} and {{/Subjects.rows}}, with supported row fields such as {{Subjects.row.name}} inside it.

Use View Variables to copy supported collection tags and fields. Row fields belong inside their matching collection. A primary-subject field such as {{Subject.full_name}} does not by itself repeat for every subject.

Optional sections

The Optional Due Date Section uses {{#Case.has_due_date}}, the due-date content, and {{/Case.has_due_date}}. It shows that content only when the case has a due date.

Validate structure

Keep opening and closing names matched. Avoid deleting a closing tag while editing the layout. Test with no records, one record, and several records to check blank sections, row repetition, and page breaks.

Scope

Use the structures supported by CaseWyze rather than assuming arbitrary Word fields or formulas will act as template logic.
