Adding Links from Google Drive, OneDrive, and Other Cloud Services

You can save cloud file links as attachments in CaseWyze. The file can remain in Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, Box, iCloud, or another service while the case holds an organized reference to it.

  1. In the cloud service, obtain the file or document's HTTPS link and check that the intended users have access.
  2. Open the case's Attachments tab.
  3. Select Add Attachment > Add External Link.
  4. Enter a descriptive Title and paste the link into External URL.
  5. Confirm the detected Provider or select the appropriate provider label.
  6. Choose the Visibility Access Group and complete the link category, related subject, description, notes, or tags as appropriate.
  7. Select Add External Link, then verify the saved record.
  8. Use Open Link to check the destination when you have Download Attachments permission.

Supported provider labels

Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, Box, iCloud, and Generic Web Link.

What is saved?

CaseWyze saves the URL and link details. It does not copy the file, preserve its contents, calculate a hash of it, or grant access in the cloud service. The provider remains responsible for the original file and its permissions.

Use an HTTPS URL without embedded credentials, spaces, or control characters. Avoid links containing passwords or other credentials.
